I think everyone could be forgiven for thinking that this album would never have been written let alone developed and produced after it seemed Ozzy had settled down into a life of his own TV series, celebrity appearances on both TV and radio, or just spending time relaxing and enjoying his later years.

No way although it was a long time coming around 6 years at last count, the wait has been well worth it in terms of quality from the true Godfather of rock. Indeed I wonder why I am even the slightest surprised at how good the tracks on the album actually are. Ozzy seems to get better the older he gets. One thing is for sure unlike some bands and artists he gives the fans their moneywort all the way through. Not living on past glories like some money hungry groups no Ozzy could never be accused of that.

The album itself can only be described as awesome, his creativity shines through in a mix of energetic ear bursting classic Ozzy tracks to his now often visited softer thoughtful tracks perfectly mixed together to produce a very enjoyable 40 minute journey through the mind of one of rocks greatest figures.
I have heard it said that each of the tracks could seriously offer competition as singles in the charts but perhaps that is a little over confident. Perhaps 9 out of 10 tracks if I was to look at it realistically!
I guess that Ozzy Osbourne has had everything said and written about him down the years but for at least one more time I am sure that he will be held in high esteem for the work he has produced for his fans in Black Rain.

A truly brilliant album for both fans that have traveled with him through the years and people who are just starting to learn about the man and his music. Either way Black Rain is an album which is well worth the money and where satisfaction is almost 100% guaranteed.
