In 1987 Michael Jackson released his 3rd EPIC album. It followed in the footsteps of his worldwide hit Thriller and much was expected from the king of pop music.

With the success of Thriller it was obvious that this album would never be able to attain those heights but still an expectation was around for Jackson to produce just as quality an album as he had previously. From the first track Bad it was obvious that two things had occurred. Firstly that Jackson had done as his fans had hoped and managed to produce another quality album, but as well had changed his influences and started to incorperate much more dancing into his songs to some people he started to move away from his soul roots and move towards a more pop based footing. Not that that was a bad thing rather that he totally surprised people by not staying with his tried and tested performances. In some areas the Bad album is actually reviewed as being much better than the Thriller album which in reality gives the album the respect it deserves. What is for sure is that it produced more hits for Jackson as fans around the world bought the single releases of 'Dirty Diana', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', and 'Smooth Criminal' in such numbers that they all entered the top ten whilst also giving Jackson his third solo number one 'I Just Can't Stop LovingYou' Knowing what we know about Jackson now as a performer it is no real surprise that he managed to do the unthinkable and produce another album which split fans as to which was the better. Such is his genius on stage performing original works that it could be said that he could never produce an album that wasn’t successful. That has certainly been the case through his career up to now.

Of all the great tracks on this album I will recommend Dirty Diana as the one which will have you foot tapping in your chair if you can actually remain in your chair that is!
