Track Listing 1. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2. Baby Be Mine 3. Girl Is Mine 4. Thriller 5. Beat It 6. Billie Jean 7. Human Nature 8. PYT (Pretty Young Thing) 9. Lady In My Life In 1982 Michael Jackson released his thriller album after months of eager anticipation. The public were not to be disappointed by his offering and the thriller album would go down in history as the biggest selling album of all time reaching well over 100 million copies sold worldwide and still being bought by new generations wanting to experience the Thriller experience for themselves.
No doubt what helped to make the album what it turned into was the innovative video that accompanied the album. Featuring Jackson in the lead role of a horror movie the video went on to highlight the tracks to their true potential and show to Jackson to be a brilliant performer as well as singer. Of course Jackson was not new to the entertainment industry but this was one of his first albums where he went solo to explore new directions in music.
All the tracks on the album became hits in their own rights with 7 of the tracks reaching into the top 100 hit singles in the US. The Thriller album continued to go from strength to strength and seemed to break down barriers in the process. For example the track Billie Jean was the first video by a black artist to receive regular airplay on MTV and this in turn helped to bring music from African-American artists back into mainstream radio for the first time since the mid-1970s.
Thriller was a gigantic hit for Michael Jackson who found himself at the peak of his solo career at the age of just 25. He was idolized by many especially those in the music business who declared that the Thriller album had made over $4 billion in revenue for the industry as a whole. Michael himself won countless awards for the album and at one introduced the world to his famous moonwalk which would be one of his trade marks in the forthcoming years.
Unfortunately Michael was never able to reproduce such an effort on this scale which to some degree is not surprising as Thriller is a once in a life time achievement.

Michael Jackson - KING OF POP, Friday, 14 September 2007 Written by gscs - View all my reviews - #1 Reviewer Great hits such as "wanna be startin' something", "PYT", "Baby Be Mine", "Lady In My Life", "billie jean", "beat it", and "human nature" is so unforgetable tracks. I have listend to the album thousands of times and im still not bored of it. I am enjoyed watching his music videos over and over again. He is the true KING OF POP. Thriller to me is perfection in an album, it had pop, soul, disco, hard rock, funk, and best of all. I rate this album 10 out of 10. It is the biggest and possibly the best album in the history of music.
