Ex's And Oh's 7. Theft Right off the bat I can say many of you will dislike Atreyu the first time you hear them, their songs involve a lot of screaming. But towards the end of 2006 one of my friends got me to listen to them a lot and their songs started to grow on me. The actual product is a CD/DVD Combo but I will just review the music tracks on the CD. Here's a gist of what I think: Atreyu's music is so good you'll have its tracks listed in your iPods, MP3 players, and mobile phones.
Instead of starting off with an intro track like many CD’s do, Atreyu gets right into the most important aspect of the CD, the music. The CD opens up with the song “Lip Gloss” and “Black”, which varies from some mellow sections, to some sections of lyrics being screamed/yelled. The song has some repetitive guitar rifts, but all in all it is a good opener. Atreyu has a distinct and noticeable sound. Most of the songs start relatively the same way, but each have a different sound later in the song. Since it is a “Best Of…” CD, it features all of Atreyu’s top songs from their previous albums.
Of course like all CD’s, each song has it’s own great characteristic. Some of the songs have very strong guitar parts, others have meaningful lyrics. Many people just occasionally see Atreyu screaming on MTV or MTV2 in their music videos. They’re a pretty well known band with a distinct sound that you either like, or you hate.
Personally Atreyu isn’t one of my top bands, but they’re still a good band. As long as you can stand some screaming between the mellow parts of your songs, you should like Atreyu. |
