This offering from Bon Jovi was the second album I ever bought of their work having been quite impressed with their album Slippery When Wet years earlier. I waited a while before purchasing my next album which turned out to be the groups first greatest hits album.

The album itself is most definitely one of the best compilation albums I have come across and from track one to the finish is filled with hits that are well known and well sung by fans all over the world. No need for any fillers from this group as their work is first class and unlike many groups attempts at a greatest hits album this one really does offer what it say’s on the cover.

Bon Jovi himself has a remarkable voice which is so smooth even when reciting gritty lyrics backed up by thundering drums and shrieking guitars. Of course Living on a Prayer is many peoples associated hit song with the group but on closer inspection it is now a very close race with other more recent tracks. Wanted Dead or alive has become a popular track due to its inclusion in the movie Young Guns whilst ballads such as Bed of Roses show the group is not just a typical rock band belting out the amps although they do that really well with tracks such as you give love a bad name and lay your hands on me from the New Jersey album. All in all the album is well worth the money and will be one of those albums that will keep most people happy.

In choosing one track I would recommend bad medicine as one which doesn’t get as much of a mention as some of the others. The track for me has everything that is great about Bon Jovi and will go down as one of their best tracks to date.

You can't go wrong with Bon Jovi. There's one track that I think should be included in this album. "It's my life" was a track definitely worthy a place in greatest hits. It's not as majestic as Living on A Prayer but I remembered that It's my life was a rock song that emerged as an oasis amongst the boy bands littered MTV at that time.
