After achieving little recognition with their Pyromania album but great success with their fans around the world Def Leppard took a further 4 years to create their next album Hysteria.

A great deal had happened in between those four years none worse so than drummer Rick Allen loosing his arm in a car crash but with the band being determined not to employ a replacement for their friend they gave him the encouragement he needed to relearn his art and become one of the most recognizable and brilliant drummers of his time.

Prior to its release critics had written off Def Leppard as a band who had promised much but through a combination of things had lost their way and would be never seen again as a force in rock. How wrong they were. Hysteria broke many records around the world and to this day epitomizes what rock in the 80’s was all about. The album is one of a few which belong in any rock fans album collection with all tracks encompassing everything that is great about Def Leppard and 80’s/ 90's rock.

The album itself I would argue is the bands best of all time as it does give a great idea to those who were not around what 80’s rock was all about and why it became so popular. The tunes themselves are catchy and most of all fun. One of those albums were you could spend all afternoon pretending to take the lead and sing into your hairbrush!

Many of the tracks to this day remain favorites on rock radio stations including tracks such as ‘Rocket‘, whilst others remind 30 something’s about their more tender moments with tunes such as ‘Love bites’ .
That is not to say that the album is either one or the other as it has middle or the range tracks as well as in the track which was to become the title of the album itself ‘Hysteria’

The release of the album also proved to be so popular that several of the tracks were released with equal popularity and helped to make the album not only the best album produced by the band but also one of the best albums to have been produced in the 80’s/ 90's rock era itself.

This cd shows Def Leppard at its full potential. They spent 3 years putting this albumn together and it shows. Also includes one of their most popular albumns "pour some sugar on me" which is played at nearly every sporting game.
